I had been asked many times by other enthusiasts to share my knowledge but I was reluctant at first. Why should I let go of the expertise and secrets that I myself had put in so much effort to obtain? Wouldn’t I then lose my "expert" status? The basic soap making process involves mixing the lye and water, then adding that mixture to the fats. Mix it all together, let it harden and presto! You have a bar of your very own soap. It’s so easy and simple, anyone can do it!
Basic soap can be made with just these three ingredients, but your soap can be further customized in a variety of ways. Add sand to make it exfoliating, essential oils for scents, colorants; use a fancy mold to make it your own. Your soap can be as creative as you are!
